Visualizing UFO sightings in Germany

01. The project
This fun project that I realized together with Hans Hack for the German edition of Motherboard (VICE) consisted in scraping an entire database which details UFO sightings in Germany from 1945-2016. We then proceeded to design and implement an interactive map, which shows every UFO sighting in Germany in this period.

02. The map
The map showcases a few short stories about interesting facts and also hosts an interactive data explorer which can be used to filter sightings by location, date and different attributes. The full project can be found at www.ufoland.info.
