Georgeous Geobrowsing – Group Show

In its long history, cartography has never been as ubiquitous as today. More maps than ever before are being produced and used – and the user itself has become a producer of the currently amplifying and still formally predetermined digital maps. They provide for the scientific, technological, but also artistic capturing of the world, between objective measurability and subjective perception. Entangled in (geo-) data and surfaces, the contributions for the exhibition “Gorgeous Geobrowsing” respond critically to the formalization of our perception, focusing artistically on systems and their aesthetic potential.

Contributions by Moritz Ahlert, Katja Aufleger, Bureau d‘Études, Emily Eifler,
Jenny Odell, Hanny Oldendorf, Alsino Skowronnek & Hans Hack.

Curated by Moritz Ahlert, Annika Goretzki und Johannes Oldendorf.
